Dr Donald Collie
is a sub-specialist ophthalmic surgeon with an extensive practice based
on cataract, refractive (eyesight correction) and corneal transplant
surgery. Following his fellowship training in the USA, the United Kingdom
and Holland, he has been at the forefront of surgical innovations in
these fields.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists,
the Royal Australasian College of Surgery and the Australian College
of Tropical Medicine. |

In addition to his practice in Melbourne, Dr Collie has
had a long involvement with provision of eye surgery to developing countries,
particularly in the Pacific Island nations of Kiribati, Tonga, Vanuatu
and the Solomons and he led teams of eye surgeons to these areas annually
for 13 years.
He is fluent in Italian, and his principal interests outside eye surgery
are his family, good food and wine, skiing and tennis. Dr
